This project involved the network infrastructure of a new building. This is a big project that has many people working on it and is quite complicated. However being there from the start has been an amazing learning experience so far.

Designing and implementing the network in a new building is a large project. The first thing done was scout the building for a centralized space where a switch closet could be set up. Once a space is found the second step is determining what kind of equipment is needed for the building. This has a number a variables like the number of people that were going to be in the building, power issues, and cooling issues.

The next step in building out the network is the process of actually designing the networks that will be used. This process involved creating VLAN IDs, subnets, and what CIDR to use. Since this is an off-campus site everything is going to be routed back to the main campus.
