With this project, the student was responsible for installing Windows Server 2008 R2 on VMware 7.0 and 8.0.  Throughout the installation process the student received an error message about the system being unable to open the kernel device.  The student then learned that he would have to edit the configuration files so that the vmcio.present would be set to FALSE.  Next the student learned how to go into the BIOS and set the trusted execution for configuration to off.  After successfully being able to install the server on VMware 7.0 the student then began to trouble shoot an issue with VMware 8.0.  The student received an error message about the software virtualization being incompatible with long mode on.  Therefore, the student went into the BIOS and changed the trusted execution to off.
