Previously all of the data entry for surplus has been written out by hand. The purpose of the university department site is to create a website which will fulfill the needs of data entry for surplus. The first step in creating the site was to pull ideas for the new site from the current university department site on another university department’s web page. Upon doing so the students then created wire-frames; the project programmer determined that the normal template was not compatible with the development framework. Therefore, the site needed to be built from the ground up. From a programming perspective the student needed to create a web based input form which would meet the client’s needs. One of the team members created a relational database which contained the appropriate entity classes, tables and fields. This project is a great example of the web design process in which you are required to constantly revise your content in order to meet the client’s needs.
